Richard Shea from the Salvation Army has been in touch to say ‘thanks’ for CRUK’s recent assistance in directing him to Tom Foad at TriRecycle. Tom kindly donated some floor tiles earmarked for disposal to Richard for re-purposing. Some of these were re-laid at one of the Salvation Army’s depots and the remainder were sent for re-use in community housing.

Richard said he wanted to send “a big thank you to TriRecycle who provided 5 pallets of good quality carpet tiles.” He explained “we donated a pallet of these to The Salvation Army Corp at Wollaston, (a stone’s throw from our main warehouse) because the floor in their hall was in need of repair.” He continued “Captains Jennifer & Stuart McPhee and their team laid the tiles themselves and completely transformed the hall. The whole team at the Wollaston and the community it serves were very grateful and we can’t thank TriRecycle enough.”

Richard confirmed that “the remaining pallets have been sent to our Donation Centre in Bristol and Superstore in Banbury to support those communities.”

It’s great when via the CRUK network we can foster collaborations that fulfil our aim of diverting flooring waste away from landfill. This is another good example of that in action. Please let us know if you have any suitable donations for Richard and we will let him know.
