About Us
A little about our organisation and people
Who we are
SPRA is the trade association representing the UK’s single ply roofing industry. Our mission is to achieve growth and sustainability in all sectors of the single ply roofing industry by raising the awareness of single ply technology, its value and ensuring manufacturing and installation standards remain high. SPRA is an increasingly influential voice in the roofing sector and is working in close co-operation with other trade associations to raise the overall profile of the UK roofing industry.
Why we exist
SPRA members are actively involved in the monitoring, development and reporting of cutting-edge technologies to improve single ply products, installations and aftercare. Access our Technical Resources which provide guidance and support not only focussed on current best practice but has also been honed and based on the skills, knowledge, and experience of members since the beginning of the association.
Our objective is to continue to improve the overall technical and quality standards of single ply roofing in the UK by making accessibility to membership for all involved throughout the supply chain.

Recent Member Testimonials
“IKO PLC joined the Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) as we are a key manufacturer of single ply membranes within the UK. We wanted to showcase to our customer base that we not only follow but help champion industry standards when it comes to both single ply manufacturing and installation.
Being a SPRA member has been extremely beneficial from a knowledge perspective, especially when it comes to technical advice and networking with like-minded industry professionals. The SPRA community goes above and beyond with its first-rate technical advice and its thorough, in-depth coverage of standards and regulations.
SPRA certainly leads the way when it comes to updating its members on the latest regulation changes. For that reason, we would definitely recommend becoming a SPRA member to those who are yet to do so. The events hosted by the Single Ply Roofing Association are both generally very well-attended and organised to the highest standard.“
David Coldham, Technical Director at IKO PLC (UK)
“I have been involved with the Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) since its inception in 1992. Their mission to promote growth and sustainability in the single ply roofing industry—by raising awareness of single ply technology and ensuring high manufacturing and installation standards—aligns perfectly with my goals during my tenure at Sarnafil. My focus was on establishing a training and support team dedicated to equipping our contractors with the skills necessary for the satisfactory installation of our products, enabling us to confidently issue our guarantees.
Therefore, joining the SPRA Council in 2019 was a pivotal decision for me, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the experience. As someone deeply invested in the promotion of best practices in our training academes and field support, I sought a community that could offer both resources and networking opportunities. SPRA exceeded my expectations.
One of the greatest advantages of membership is the rich exchange of knowledge among peers. The technical insights, training opportunities, networking connections, and industry news updates have significantly deepened my understanding of the field. Moreover, I’ve been able to apply the tools and strategies I’ve learned to my work, resulting in noticeable improvements in my projects —all thanks to the valuable insights gained from SPRA involvement.
I highly recommend SPRA for any company especially contractors seeking to connect with like-minded professionals. The camaraderie and support within this community are unparalleled. The events themselves are well-organized, engaging, and filled with valuable content. I’ve left every event feeling inspired and equipped to tackle new challenges.
In summary, joining SPRA has been a transformative experience for me. If you’re considering membership, I wholeheartedly encourage you to take the leap—it’s a decision you won’t regret!“
